Government religious committee leader extends Tet greetings to Buddhists, Catholics in Hanoi

A delegation of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) led by Chairman Vũ Chiến Thắng paid visits to the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Chapter in Hanoi and Hanoi Archdiocese on February 8, on occasion of Vietnam’s Traditional New Year (Tet) of the Dog 2018.

During the visits, the GCRA delegation met with Most Venerable Chairman of the Executive Committee of the VBS chapter Thích Bảo Nghiêm in Ly Trieu Quoc Su Pagoda and Cardinal Archbishop of Hanoi Peter Nguyễn Văn Nhơn in Hanoi Cathedral.

Speaking with the hosts, while extending Tet greetings to the two Buddhist and Catholic leaders and all dignitaries and followers of Buddhism and Catholicism in Hanoi city, Chairman Vũ Chiến Thắng highlighted practical contributions, especially social charities, of Buddhists and Catholics in the country in general, and in Hanoi in particular.

Speaking with the guests, Cardinal Peter Nguyễn Văn Nhơn and Most Venerable Thích Bảo Nghiêm took the chance to thank the GCRA for its support for religious practices of Buddhism and Catholicism over the past years, and extended best wishes to all GCRA’s officials and staff in the new Lunar Year.
