Government religious committee leader extends Lunar New Year greetings to religious organizations in Ho Chi Minh City

Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Vũ Chiến Thắng on January 30-31 paid visits to offices of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS), the Pure-land Buddhist Association and Vietnam Baha’i Spiritual Council in Ho Chi Minh City ahead of Lunar New Year (Tet) 2018.
Welcoming the GCRA leader included Most Venerable President of the VBS’ Central Executive Council Thích Thiện Nhơn, Chairman of the Pure-land Buddhist Association’s Central Executive Committee Nguyễn Phương Hiếu, and General Secretary of the Baha’i Spiritual Council Nguyễn Đình Thỏa.

During the visits, Chairman Vũ Chiến Thắng extended Tet wishes to dignitaries and followers of the religious organizations. The GCRA also hailed social charities of religions and called on the three religious organizations to further uphold fine traditions for social unity and sustainable development in the country.

On the occasion, Chairman Vũ Chiến Thắng has visited the Vietnam Buddhist Institute and attended the 200th anniversary of Vietnam Congregation of Salesian Don Bosco in Ho Chi Minh City./.
