Government religious committee leader extends congratulations to newly appointed bishop of Hung Hoa Diocese

Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Vũ Hoài Bắc extended on February 16 a congratulatory visit to the newly installed bishop of Hung Hoa Diocese, Bishop Dominic Hoàng Minh Tiến.

Joining the GCRA chairman included Director of the GCRA’s Catholic Affairs Department Đinh Quang Tiến and Vice Chairman of the Religious Affairs Committee in Hanoi Nguyễn Đức Tuấn.

During the visit, while extending congratulations to the newly appointed bishop of Hung Hoa, Chairman Vũ Hoài Bắc highlighted practical contributions of the diocese in social charities and the Covid-19 prevention work in the locality over the past years.

The GCRA chairman expressed hope that Bishop Dominic Hoàng Minh Tiến would continue encouraging parishioners to promote fine traditions and guiding Catholic practices according to state laws on religion.

Speaking with the guests, Bishop Dominic Hoàng Minh Tiến thanked the GCRA for its due attention and supports extended to the religious affairs of the diocese, and stated that he would futher encourage local Catholic followers to actively engage in the pandemic prevention work and made practical contributions for socio-economic development in the locality.

As reported, Bishop Dominic Hoàng Minh Tiến was formally appointed as the new bishop of Hung Hoa diocese in December 2021, and the ceremony for the offically taking the office was organized on February 14, 2022.
