The Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) reviewed its performance 2017 and outlined working plans for 2018 at a meeting held on February 6.
The meeting was chaired by Chairman of the GCRA Vũ Chiến Thắng and attended by GCRA’s officials and staff.
As reported at the meeting, the GCRA has completed all tasks related to religious affairs assigned by the Party’s Political Bureau and Central Committee, and the Government and the Prime Minister, including the drafting of two government decrees guiding the implementation of Law on Belief and Religion 2016, in which the decree detailing several articles of the law and providing measures for its implementation was issued by the Vietnam Government on December 30, 2017.
The year-end meeting also set 10 key tasks for the government body on the state administration on belief and religion, including targets for improving the efficiency of religious affairs, keeping working disciplines amongst GCRA’s officials and staff, speeding up the administrative procedures reform in the state administration sector on belief and religion, enhancing working capacity of personnel tasked with the governance on religion, etc.
During the event, several officials of the GCRA have been presented with certificates of merit from the Prime Minister and Ministers of Home Affairs and Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs for their outstanding contributions to the state governance on belief and religion and to religion-related state affairs.
