Government Religious Committee holds workshop on 4th draft law on religion

On April 15, the Government Committee for Religious Affairs held a meeting with religious scholars and officials on the 4th draft law on belief and religion.

The workshop meeting was presided by Vice Chairmen of Government Committee for Religious Affairs Bùi Thanh Hà and Dương Ngọc Tấn, and attended by members of the Drafting Board and the Editorial Team consisting of representatives from various ministries and central agencies, and scholars from the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Administration, Hanoi University of Law and the Social Sciences and Humanities University.

During the event, workshop participants made further discussion and exchanges on a number of issues, including the right to freedom of belief or religion, the legal entity of religious organizations, social and charitable activities by religious individuals and organizations, religious activities by foreigners in Vietnam…

 The 4th draft law has 71 articles arranged in 12 chapters, and the new draft contains several changes as compared with the previous draft.
