Government religious committee holds religious affairs training for key cadres in Southeast region

The Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) held from September 30- October 3 in Ba Ria – Vung Tau province’s Vung Tau city a training conference on the implementation of state laws and administrative skills for cadres tasked with belief & religious affairs in nine provinces and cities in the Southeast region.

Attending the event’s opening ceremony included Vice Chairwoman of the GCRA Trần Thị Minh Nga, Deputy Director of the Home Affairs Department in Ba Ria – Vung Tau province Nguyễn Thị Ngọc Yến, and over 100 cadres tasked with belief & religious affairs in provinces of Dong Nai, Tay Ninh, Binh Phuoc, Thua Thien Hue, Ha Tinh and Thanh Hoa, and Ba Ria – Vung Tau, Binh Duong and Ho Chi Minh cities.

The four-day workshop covered basic contents of state policies & laws on belief & religion, Decree 95 dated December 29, 2023 detailing articles and measures to implement the law on belief & religion 2016, new regulations of the Law of Land relating belief & religion, professional skills on religious affairs relating Catholicism, Buddhism, Caodaism, Protestantism and new religious phenomena, and a field trip to several religious & belief worshipping places in the locality.

Speaking at the event, Vice Chairwoman Trần Thị Minh Nga stated that in the context of globalization and international integration, religion has no national or territorial borders and has caused many impacts on social life. Thus local cadres tasked with religious affairs need to be equipped with professional skills on the state management on belief & religion, the advocacy work on belief & religion and thorough understanding of religions.
