Government Religious Committee holds meeting on construction of National Temple in Truong Sa island

On Sept. 22, the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) held a meeting on building a national temple in Truong Sa island.
The event was chaired by Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Ministry cum Chairman of the GCRA Phạm Dũng, and attended by Vice Chairmen of the GCRA Bùi Thanh Hà and Dương Ngọc Tấn, Most Venerable Vice President of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha Executive Council Thích Thanh nhiễu, representatives from the National Navy Force, Khanh Hoa provincial authorities, and officials of the GCRA’s Office and Buddhist Affairs Department.
During meeting, the delegates discussed and agreed on basic issues relating to the construction of the temple, such as its main facilities, scope, structure, architecture, ect.
The construction of the National Temple aimed to serve the spiritual needs of combatant soldiers, local residents and visitors on the island, contributing local social-economic development and defense of Vietnam sovereignty over its sea and islands.
