At the meeting

The event was chaired by Chairman of the GCRA Vũ Hoài Bắc, and attended by GCRA Vice Chairman Nguyễn Tiến Trọng, Deputy Director of Standing Office of the central Party Commission for Mass Mobilization in Ho Chi Minh city Cao Hồng Hưng, Deputy Head of the Southern Affairs Department under the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Phạm Thanh Tuyền, and representatives from Homeland Security Department under the Ministry of the Public Security and the Committee for Religious Affairs in Ho Chi Minh city.

Protestant dignitaries participating at the event included heads of ten Protestant churches headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City, namely the Vietnam Evangelical Church (South), the Vietnam Adventist Church, the Vietnam General Baptist Church, the Vietnam Christian Fellowship Church, the Vietnam Assemblies of God Church, the Vietnam Baptist Church, the Vietnam Presbyterian Church, the Vietnam Mennonite Church, the Vietnam United Gospel Outreach Church, and Vietnam Full Gospel Church.

During the gathering, Vice Chairman of the GCRA Nguyễn Tiến Trọng updated information on socio-economic development and religious practices in Vietnam in the first quarter of 2022. He also stated that the Vietnam Government highly appreciated practical contributions to the Covid-19 epidemic prevention, relief supplies sent to flood-hit victims in Central region made by religious organizations over the past year, such as supports presented to the Covid-19 prevention work worth tens of billions VND, medical equipments and tens of thousands of relief packages, etc.

Representatives from Christian Churches took the chance to thank the Government, the GCRA and local governments for their due attention and support extended to religious affairs of the religious organizations and informed that the Protestant churches have all well observed Covid-19 preventive measures in the new situation.

Speaking at the event, GCRA Chairman Vũ Hoài Bắc extended Easter greetings to all leaders and members of the Protestant churches. He highly appreciated roles of the church’s leaders in guiding religious practices of Protestant communities and making practical contributions to socio-economic development of the country.
