Government Religious Committee holds conference on practices of beliefs

On November 12, the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) held a conference on belief and state's administration on belief.

The conference was chaired by Vice Chairman of the GCRA Bùi Thanh Hà, and attended by representatives from the central agencies, leaders of the GCRA’s departments and researchers on belief.

During the conference, delegates exchanged and discussed issues relating to belief activities and state's administration on belief, including forms, characteristics and roles of belief practice, belief worshiping activities in localities throughout the country as well as evaluation of the state administration on belief.

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman Bùi Thanh Hà emphasized the importance of protecting and promoting values of belief activities and avoiding abuse and commercialism of belief practices that would adversely affect social security and order. He also urged authorities to encourage belief activities for promoting fine traditional values as well as meeting spiritual needs of people, and to regulate belief activities in conformity with the current framework of law for ensuring social stability.
