Government religious committee holds conference on draft decree to replace Decree 162/2017/ND-CP, draft decree on sanction of violations relating belief and religion

The Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) held on June 24 a conference to gather comments on the decree to replace Decree No. 162/2017/ND-CP detailing a number of articles and measures to implement the Law on Belief and Religion and the draft decree on sanction of violations in the field of belief and religion.
At the conference
The event taking place in Dong Nai province was co-chaired by Deputy Minister of Home Affairs cum Head of the drafting board of the two draft decrees Vũ Chiến Thắng, Chairman of the GCRA Vũ Hoài Bắc, and Vice Chairman of the GCRA cum Head of the editing group of the two draft decrees Nguyễn Tiến Trọng.

During the conference, participants who are cadres tasked with religious affairs in provinces and cities in the country gave many comments speech on the two draft decrees, focusing on the interpretation of terms; registration of collective religious practices; changes of location or representative of religious groups of foreigners lawfully residing in Vietnam; the suspension and restoration of operations for religious organizations, affiliated religious organizations and religious training institutions; online religious practices; administrative violations and sanctioning forms, sanctioning levels and remedial measures; competent authority to make minutes and impose penalties, etc.

Concluding the conference, Deputy Minister Vũ Chiến Thắng asked the drafting board and the editing group of the two draft decrees to gather comments raised by the conference participants for early completing the two draft decrees and submitting to the Government as scheduled.
