The Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) and Vietnam Farmers’ Association (VFA) reviewed its coordination activities in the 2012-2017 period and signed another five-year coordination program at a meeting held in November 24.
The meeting held in the GCRA’s headquarters was co-chaired by Standing Vice Chairman of the GCRA Bùi Thanh Hà and Vice Chairman of the VFA Lều Vũ Đều, and joint by representatives of departments under the GCRA and VFA.
As reviewed at the meeting, the GCRA and the VFA have closely collaborated in the dissemination of state policies and laws on religion and socio-economic development for rural areas to Vietnamese farmers nation-wide for the past five years. Under guidance of the two state sectors, the religious committee and farmers’ association in provinces and cities have also implemented joint working programs for implementing state policies designed for improving both spiritual and material life of farmers, especially those who are followers of religions in the country, contributing to ensure religious practices conducted in accordance with the laws, eradicate hunger, reduce of poverty and promote new rural developments

During the meeting, the two sides also signed another coordination program for the 2017-2022 period, as well as presented memorial badges to outstanding members for their contributions to the state administration of religious affairs and the development of farming industry and farmers’ association.
