Government Religious Committee extends Tet visits to religious leaders in Central Vietnam

A delegation of the Government Committee Religious Affairs (GCRA) led by Director of Buddhist Affairs Department Bùi Hữu Dược paid visits to religious leaders in central provinces on January 23-26 ahead of the traditional Tet Festival (Lunar New Year Festival).

Joining the delegation included GCRA’s Deputy Director of Catholic Affairs Department Nguyễn Dương Long.

The delegation met and extended Tet greetings to several Buddhist leaders including Most Venerable Thích Đức Phương, Deputy Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) cum Chairman of Thua Thien Hue provincial VBS’s Executive Committee; Most Venerable Thích Chơn Thiện, VBS’s Deputy Patriarch cum Vice President of the VBS’s Executive Council; Most Venerable Thích Khế Chơn, Vice Chairman of Thua Thien Hue provincial VBS’s Executive Committee; Most Venerable Thích Thiện Nguyện, Chairman of the Da Nang municipal VBS’s Executive Committee, etc.  

The delegation also visited and expressed Tet wishes to Archbishop Francis Xavier Lê Văn Hồng of Hue Archdiocese; Priest Hồ Thứ, Director of Major Seminary of Hue; the Congregation of the Holy Cross  Lovers of Hue; Da Nang Diocese, etc.

During the visit meetings, GCRA’s representatives also expressed hope that religious dignitaries would continue encouraging followers to proactively participate in patriotic movements for promoting development and prosperity in the country.
