Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Trần Tấn Hùng led on December 20 a delegation to visit the head office of the Catholic diocese of Long Xuyen located in An Giang province ahead of Christmas Day.
The GCRA leader accompanied by Chairman of An Giang provincial religious committee Lê Nguyên Châu was welcomed by Bishop of Long Xuyen Joseph Trần Xuân Tiếu.
During the visiting reception, Vice Chairman Trần Tấn Hùng wished clerics and followers of Long Xuyen diocese a merry Christmas and took the chance to commend local Catholics’ practical contributions to socio-economic developments in the localities.
On the same day, a delegation of An Giang provincial government led by Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Võ Anh Kiệt visited and extended Christmas greetings and happy New Year to Christian places of worship in the province.
