Government religious committee delegation visits Tham Piu Cave

A delegation from the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) led by Chairman Vũ Chiến Thắng visited Tham Piu Cave on April 8, on occasion of its working visit to Laos from April 5-9. 

Tham Piu Cave, located 58km from the centre of Xieng Khouang province, is the commemoration site for 374 people who were killed by an American bombing on 24 November 1968.

In this cave, 374 residents from Kham district who took shelter here during one of the American bombings in the region, were killed by an American missile that was shot in the cave by an American plane.

During the visit, the delegation offered incense at the commemorating monument at the cave and prayed for peace and spiritual uplifting of the war victims.
