Government religious committee Chairman pays courtesy visits to leaders of Lao national construction front and home affairs ministry

     The Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA)’s delegation led by Chairman Vũ Chiến Thắng paid on April 6 courtesy visits to President of the Lao Front for National Construction Saysomphone Phomvihane and Minister of Home Affairs Khammanh Sounvileuth, on occasion of its working visit to Laos from April 5-9.   

During visiting receptions, Chairman Vũ Chiến Thắng briefed the hosts current socio-economic development and religious life in Vietnam. The Vietnamese religious committee leader also pledged to strengthen the traditional cooperation between the Vietnam Government Committee fop Religious Affairs and the Central Committee of Lao Front for National Construction according the cooperation agreement signed by the two sides for the 2018-2020 period.

President of the Laos Front for National Construction Saysomphone Phomvihane and Minister of Home Affairs Khammanh Sounvileuth spoke highly of the cooperation program between the Vietnam Government Committee for Religious Affairs and the Central Committee of Lao Front for National Construction. The Lao minister of home affairs also expressed hope for further support and cooperation from the Vietnam’s central agency on religious affairs.

On the same day, the GCRA chairman chaired an exchange meeting on the state governance on religion in Vietnam and visited the Vietnam embassy in Vientiane.

During the meeting with participants tasked with religious affairs of Laos, Chairman  Vũ Chiến Thắng briefed them the religious life and state policy on religion in Vietnam. Sharing working experience in Vietnam, the GCRA leader highlighted the priority for meeting people’s legitimate religious practice need and maintaining the harmonious church-and-state relation, contributing to social stability as a prerequisite for socio-economic development.
