Government Religious Committee Chairman attends 76th anniversary of Hoa Hao Buddhism

The Central Executive Committee of Hòa Hảo Buddhism celebrated the sect’s 76th founding anniversary at a solemn ceremony held on July 3 at An Hoa Tu in An Giang province.

Distinguished guests at the ceremony included Deputy Minister of Home Affairs cum Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Phạm Dũng, Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Nguyễn Văn Pha and Vice Chairman of An Giang provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Thanh Bình.

Speaking during the ceremony, Mr. Nguyễn Tấn Đạt - Chairman of the Central Executive Committee reiterated the Church’s determination to work together in unity for religious development and close attachment to the nation, contributing to the cause of national construction and defense.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman Phạm Dũng highlighted that over the past 76 years, with the principle “Study Buddhism, Cultivate Human Virtues”, the Hoa Hao Buddhist Church has preserved orthodox teachings, promoted fine ethical values, contributing to upheld the patriotic tradition and spirit of unity, close attachment to and accompany with the nation. He also stated that Hoa Hao Buddhism has developed and integrated into the nation in the cause of building and defending the country following the motto “for Dharma, for Nation”
