Government Committee for Religious Affairs leader receives delegation from Inter-religious Harmony Center of Indonesia

Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for religious Affairs (GCRA) Dương Ngọc Tấn received a delegation from the Inter-religious Harmony Center, Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs led by its Chairman Mr. H. Mubarok, SH., M.SC on Dec. 8.
At the reception, Mr. H. Mubarok, SH, M.Sc informed the host purpose of the delegation visit to Vietnam which aimed to learn about religious life and policies in Vietnam as the Government of Indonesia is under consideration to make a new law on belief and religion.
At the reception, Mr. Dương Ngọc Tấn welcomed the delegation and briefed the guests on the religious situation in Vietnam as well as policies and laws of Vietnam State on belief and religion over the past time. According to Mr. Dương Ngọc Tấn, Vietnam recognized 38 religious organizations and 01 religious sect belonging to 13 religions with over 24 million religious followers, and currently Buddhism has the largest number of followers. Policies and laws of Vietnam State consistently respect and guarantee the right to freedom of belief and religion for citizens.
The two sides also expressed hope for more cooperation opportunities in religious affairs in order to boost the fine relations between the Vietnam and Indonesia.
