At the reception, Dr. Geritt Gong thanked the GCRA for favorable conditions extended to the Provisional Representative Committee of LDS Church over the past year.

He also spoke highly of positive changes in religious life in Vietnam and said his visit to enhance understanding of the country, people and religious life in Vietnam would contribute to promote the comprehensive relationship between US and Vietnam.

Speaking at the reception, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs cum Chairman of the GCRA Phạm Dũng highly valued contributions to the construction and development of Vietnam by religions, including the LDS Church. He expressed his hope that followers of the Church in Vietnam will comply with LDS Church’s principles and objectives and closely accompany with the nation in the new development.
