Government Committee for Religious Affairs Chairman congratulates 90th anniversary of Cao Dai

Deputy Minister of Home Affairs cum Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Phạm Dũng visited Cao Dai Tay Ninh Church on December 4 on occasion of 90th founding anniversary of Cao Dai religion.

Cardinal Thượng Tám Thanh, Chief of the Church’s Executive Council welcomed and shared with the guests about the history and current development of the Church.

Historically, Cao Dai religion officially came into being at a ceremony held in Go Ken temple in Tay Ninh province on October, 15, 1926. After 90 years of consolidation and expansion, Cao Dai faith become a major religion in Vietnam, especially in the South, with about 2.5 million followers, 30,000 workers, 10,000 dignitaries and over 1,200 worshipping establishments. 

At the meeting reception, Chairman Phạm Dũng praised the Church for its achievements in last 90 years and thanked dignitaries and followers of Cao Dai religion for their contributions in charitable activities. He also regarded these religious achievements and social contributions as a practical implementation of the Church’s motto “For the country’s glory and religion’s enlightenment”.
