Government Committee for Religious Affairs announces the Decision on establishment of the Drafting Committee and Editorial Board for the project of Law on Belief and Religion

On October 10th, 2014 at the headquarters of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA), a meeting was held to announce the Decision on the establishment of the Drafting Committee and Editorial Board for the project of Law on Belief and Religion. 

Attending the meeting were Mr. Phạm Dũng, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Chairman of the GCRA, Mr. Kiều Đình Thụ, Vice Chairman of the Government Office, Mr. Bùi Thanh Hà, Vice-Chairman of the GCRA and members of the Drafting Committee and Editorial Board of the project of Law on Belief and Religion, and representatives from concerned ministries and central agencies.

At the meeting, Mr. Bùi Thanh Hà, Vice-Chairman of the GCRA announced the Decision No. 982/QĐ-BNV dated September 25th, 2014 on the establishment of the Drafting Committee and Editorial Board for the project of Law on Belief and Religion. After the decision announcement, the Drafting Committee and Editorial Board conducted its first meeting to discuss and gather further comments to the drafting law project and guidelines and proposals about the draft law to be submitted to the Government.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Phạm Dũng, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs cum Chairman of the GCRA said that the project of Law on Belief and Religion requires proactive involvement of the agency in charge of drafting and active participation of all members of the Drafting Committee and Editorial Board. He also expected that the Ministry of Home Affairs will receive due attention and close coordination of concerned ministries and agencies, members of Drafting Committee and the Editorial Board in order to build a progressive law on belief and religion, contributing to solve remaining issues and meet belief-related and religious needs of people./.
