Vice Chairwoman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Trần Thị Minh Nga chaired a ceremony on December 17 for presenting national flags to Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Committees and presentatives of Khmer Theravada Buddhist sect in 15 Southern provinces and cities.
The ceremony took place at Phat Ngoc Xa Loi pagoda located in Vinh Long city of Vinh Long province on occasion of the 9th conference on Khmer Theravada Buddhism held in the province.
Joining the event included Vice Chairwoman of Vinh Long provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Thị Quyên Thanh, Buddhist dignitaries of the VBS’s Discernment Council and Executive Council, representatives from the VBS executive committees and Khmer Theravada Buddhist sect in 15 provinces and cities of Southern region, and official from concerning central and local authorities.
During the ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of the GCRA Trần Thị Minh Nga presented nearly 500 national flags to the VBS executive committees and representatives of the Khmer Theravada Buddhist sect in 15 provinces and cities of Southern region.
