Director of Belief and Other Religions Department under the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Nguyễn Ánh Chức led a delegation on October 8 to pay last respect to Master Chairman of the Central Executive Committee of the Pure-Land Buddhist Association Thiện Giác Nguyễn Phương Hiếu at his funeral held in Ho Chi Minh city.
The GCRA leader sent a letter of condolences to the Pure-Land Buddhist Association and his relatives upon the death of Master Thiện Giác Nguyễn Phương Hiếu. In the letter, the GCRA leader stressed that Master Thiện Giác Nguyễn Phương Hiếu was a prestigious dignitary who has made practical contributions to development of the Buddhist Association.
Master Thiện Giác Nguyễn Phương Hiếu was born in 1940 in Vinh Loi district, Bac Lieu province. He passed away at 4.10 pm on October 6 at the age of 79.
