GCRA organizes charity visits to Catholic social centres in Thai Binh and Nam Dinh

The Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) organized a volunteer trip to the Congregation of Dominican Sisters in Thai Binh province and Bui Chu Saint An’s Orphanage in Nam Dinh province on March 28-29 on occasion of the 105th anniversary of International Women's Day and 1975th anniversary of the Trung sisters’ insurrection.

Joining the program were representatives from GCRA, local authorities and the GCRA women.

At the Congregation of Dominican Sisters in Thai Binh province on March 28, the GCRA delegation met with the Congregation sisters and presented gift boxes to children in the Congregation.

On March 29, the delegation visited Bui Chu diocese Cathedral and Bui Chu Saint An’s Orphanage in Nam Dinh province. Bishop Thomas Vũ Đình Hiệu and dignitaries of Bui Chu diocese welcomed the GCRA delegation.

During the visit to the Orphanage, the GCRA delegation presented 100 gift boxes containing clothes, books, learning equipment… to the children in the Orphanage centre.

During the charitable visits, Vice Chairman Dương Ngọc Tấn spoke highly of contributions made by religions in general and Catholicism in particular. He also expressed his hope that local authorities in Nam Dinh and Thai Binh provinces would continue to create favorable conditions for social and religious activities of dioceses and congregations.
