GCRA opens training course on implementation of Law on Belief & Religion for key Protestants

The Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) opened on April 7 a training conference for key Protestants in guiding implementation of Law on Belief and Religion.

Attending the training’s opening ceremony were Vice Chairman of the GCRA Nguyễn Tiến Trọng, Director of the GCRA’s Protestant Affairs Department Thiều Thị Hương and Vice Chairman of the Committee for Religious Affairs in Hanoi city Nguyễn Đức Tuấn.

 Participants of the course included Pastor Nguyễn Hữu Mạc, President of the ECVN (North), members of the ECVN’s (North) Executive Committee and leaders of Protestant churches in provinces and centrally–run cities.

The two-day event covered an overview of Protestantism in the world and Vietnam, the Party’s guidelines and the State’s policies on belief and religion, new contents of  the Law on Belief and Religion relating to general conferences and charters of religious organizations. The training conference also provided discussions and explanation of practical issues relating to the implementation of Law on Belief and Religion in localities.
