GCRA official visits Caodai Churches in Ho Chi Minh City

Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) cum Head of a working group of Ministry of Home Affairs Nguyễn Tiến Trọng paid visits on September 20 to the Tay Ninh Caodai Church in Ward 1 of Ho Chi Minh City’s District 5 and the Caodai Correction-Path Church in Ward 12 of the city’s District 6.

Welcoming the GCRA official were Bishop Head of the Tay Ninh Caodai Church’s Representative Committee in Ho Chi Minh City Thượng Sang Thanh and Head of the Do Thanh oratory’s Management Board under the Caodai Correction-Path Church in Ho Chi Minh City Ngọc Hai Thanh.

GCRA Vice Chairman Nguyễn Tiến Trọng extends congratulations to Tay Ninh Caodai Church’s Representative Committee on occasion of Yen Dieu Tri Cung festival

During the visits, GCRA Vice Chairman Nguyễn Tiến Trọng informed two Caodai representative committees about the working group of the home affairs ministry aimed at strengthening the state management on belief and religion in Ho Chi Minh City and southern provinces, as well as extended congratulations to the two Caodai representative committees on occasion of Yen Dieu Tri Cung festival 2021.

Speaking with the guest, Bishop Thượng Sang Thanh of the Tay Ninh Caodai Church’s Representative Committee in the city took the chance to thank the Home Affairs Ministry and the GCRA for favorable conditions extended to religious practices of Caodai churches, especially supports for charitable activities of the Caodai church in Ho Chi Minh City over the past months.

Bishop Thượng Sang Thanh also shared with the guests the Covid-19 prevention and control made by the Caodai church over the past months.

Vice Chairman Nguyễn Tiến trọng presents gift to Caodai Correction-Path Church’s Representative Committee

As reported at the visits, during the social distancing imposed in the city, the two Caodai representative committees have donated 210 million VND to the Covid-19 vaccine fund and sent 11 Caodai followers who are doctors and nurses to join the frontline medical force against the epidemic at field hospitals in the city. 100% dignitaries of the two Caodai churches in the city have received the 1st dose of Covid-19 vaccine.

Besides, the two representative committees have also received 100 tons of rice, over 200 tons of vegetables from Caodai parishes in provinces and cities for supporting to people in Ho Chi Minh City, and offered 50,000 meals and 6,500 sets of essential supplies (each containing 10 kg of rice, one liter of cooking oil, two bottles of soy sauce, six kg of vegetables, etc) with a total value of over 100 billion VND to disadvantaged people and Caodai followers in the city.
