GCRA official extends congratulations to 4th general assembly of Vietnam General Baptist Church

The Vietnam General Baptist Church held on May 24 its 4th general assembly with the participation of nearly 200 delegates from 27 provinces and cities across the country.

Distinguished guests at the event included Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Nguyễn Tiến Trọng, representatives from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, the Party’s Committee Commission for Mass Mobilization, and the U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh city.
The general assembly reviewed the church’s affairs in the 2017-2021 period, elected the church's new executive committee for 2022-2025 tenure and mapped out working plans for the next four years.

Speaking at the event, while extending congratulations to the Baptist church, Vice Chairman of the GCRA Nguyễn Tiến Trọng spoke highly of practical contributions, especially under the complicated context of the Covid-19 pandemic, made by the Church in the past term. He also expressed hope that the Church would continue promoting its fine values and guiding members to practice the religion according to the state’s laws and proactively engage in social and charitable programs, contributing to the socio-economic development in the country.
