On a working trip to Tay Ninh province, Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Afffairs (GCRA) Vũ Chiến Thắng had separate meetings on December 9 with the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs and the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Chapter in the province.
During the meeting with the GCRA leader, Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Võ Thành Công informed the GCRA Chairman the religious life and results of the state administration on religion in the province over the past years. Speaking at the meeting, Chairman Vũ Chiến Thắng stressed the need for the dissemination of the Law on Belief and Religion before its effective date set on Jan 1, 2018.
At the visit meeting with the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s chapter, Most Venerable Member of the VBS’s Executive Council cum Chairman of the provincial VBS’s Executive Committee Thích Niệm Thới informed achievements in Buddhist affairs of the VBS’s chapter in recent years and said the Buddhist chapter has spent more than VND 100 billion on social charities in the last five years.
Chairman Vũ Chiến Thắng urged the provincial Buddhist executive committee to continue upholding fine traditions and further contributing to the development of the locality.
On the same day, Vũ Chiến Thắng attended the congress of Tay Ninh Caodai Church held in Tay Ninh Holy See.
