The Government Committee for Religious Affairs held on November 21 a meeting with over 30 overseas Vietnamese Buddhist monks, nuns and followers attending the 8th national congress of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS).
Attending the meeting included Chairman of the GCRA Vũ Chiến Thắng, Vice Chairman of the GCRA Bùi Thanh Hà, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Đặng Trần Phong, Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Ngô Sách Thực and Senior Venerable General Secretary of the VBS Thích Đức Thiện.
During the meeting, Buddhist monks, nuns and followers representing the Vietnamese Buddhist communities living in 20 countries in the world shared with the hosts about advantages and difficulties in practicing the religion in countries and territories overseas.
Speaking at the event, Chairman Vũ Chiến Thắng expressed his pleasure to receive the delegation of overseas Vietnamese Buddhists and thanked them for their great contributions to the developing of the country. He also affirmed that the Vietnamese Party and State always create favorable conditions for all practice religions.
