Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Vũ Chiến Thắng hosted a reception for Most Venerable Thích Huyền Diệu, Abbot of An Vietnam Phat Quoc temples in Nepal and India on January 29.
Joining the reception included Director of International Relation Department Nguyễn Đức Vinh and Deputy Director of the Buddhistt Affairs Department Nguyễn Phúc Nguyên.
During the reception, Chairman Vũ Chiến Thắng briefed the guests on the religious life in Vietnam and informed that Vietnam has recognized 41 religious organizations belonging to 14 religions. He also hoped that the Most Venerable would make more contributions to the VBS and the Vietnamese Buddhist community in India.
Speaking with the hosts, while extending Lunar New Year’s greetings to the GCRA Chairman, Most Venerable Thích Huyền Diệu expressed hope that the GCRA would pay more attention to overseas Vietnamese Buddhists, including the Buddhist community in India.
