GCRA leader receives Bishop of Hung Hoa diocese

Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Vũ Chiến Thắng hosted a reception on January 16 for a visiting delegation from Hung Hoa diocese ahead of Lunar New Year (Tet) 2019.  

The Catholic delegation led by Bishop Alphonse Nguyễn Hữu Long – Former Auxiliary Bishop of Hung Hoa diocese and new Bishop of Vinh diocese.

During the reception, Bishop Alphonse Nguyễn Hữu Long extended Tet greetings to the GCRA’s officials and staff. He also took the change to thank to the GCRA for its supports extended to religious practices of Hung Hoa diocese over the past year and expressed hope to receive further support from the GCRA for religious affairs of the diocese in the coming time.

In exchanges with Bishop Alphonse Nguyễn Hữu Long, Chairman Vũ Chiến Thắng highly appreciated contributions to socio-economic development of the country by religious organizations in general and the Catholic church in particular.

The GCRA’s leader also extended New Year greetings to Hung Hoa diocese’s bishop, dignitaries and followers, as well as congratulations to Bishop Alphonse Nguyễn Hữu Long on his new appointment as Bishop of Vinh diocese.
