A delegation of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) led by Chairman Vũ Hoài Bắc paid on January 19 a visit to Hoa Lac pagoda located in Ninh Binh province’s Kim Son district to pay tribute to Most Venerable Thích Thanh Đàm, Deputy Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS).

The GCRA official was accompanied by GCRA Vice Chairwoman Trần Thị Minh Nga and Director of the GCRA’s Buddhist Affairs Department Lê Minh Khánh.
During the visit, the GCRA delegation laid a wreath and offered incense to the VBS leader, as well as expressed sympathy to the VBS, monks, nuns and lay Buddhists in the country.

GCRA delegation pays respects to Most Venerable Thích Thanh Đàm
Most Venerable Thích Thanh Đàm, Deputy Patriarch of the Discernment Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha passed away at Hoa Lac pagoda on January 18 at the age of 98.
A memorial service will be held on January 21, and the Most Venerable’s remains will be placed inside the stupa on the premises of the pagoda.
