On May 8, Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Trần Tấn Hùng visited the Southern office of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Council in Ho Chi Minh City, on occasion of the Buddha’s Birthday Festival 2017.
Welcoming the GCRA leader included Most Venerable President of the Central VBS’s Executive Council Thích Thiện Nhơn and dignitaries from the VBS Southern office.
During the visiting reception, while extending congratulatory greetings to the VBS’s dignitaries and Buddhist monks, nuns and followers on occasion of the Vesak celebration 2017, Vice Chairman Trần Tấn Hùng hailed the VBS’s practical contributions to the country through social, charitable activities over the past years.
Later, the GCRA’s Vice Chairman also visited and extended the Buddha’s birthday greetings to the Vietnam Buddhist Institute in HCMC, Most Venerable Deputy Patriarch Thích Đức Nghiệp, Most Venerable Deputy Patriarch Thích Hiển Pháp, Most Venerable Deputy Patriarch Thích Trí Quảng, and Vice Presidents the VBS’s Executive Council in HCMC.
