GCRA leader extends Tet greetings to VBS’s Southern Office

Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Vũ Hoài Bắc paid on January 11 a visit to the office of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Council in Ho Chi Minh City on occasion of Lunar New Year (Tet) 2024.

The GCRA leader was accompanied by GCR Vice Chairwoman Trần Thị Minh Nga and welcomed by Most Venerable Standing Vice President of the VBS Executive Council Thích Thiện Pháp, Most Venerable Vice President of the VBS Executive Council Thích Thiện Thống, and members of the VBS’s southern office.

Speaking at the visit, while extending Tet greetings to Most Venerable Thích Thiện Pháp, members of the VBS office in HCMC, and all monks, nuns and lay Buddhists of the VBS, Chairman Vũ Hoài Bắc highlighted contributions made by the VBS in social charities valued at 2,000 billion VND in total last year. He also expressed hope that the VBS would continue well implementing the motto "Dharma - Nation - Socialism" and contributing more to a civilized, beautiful and prosperous country of Vietnam.

On behalf of the VBS’s executive council, Most Venerable Thích Thiện Thống took the chance to thank the GCRA for paying due attention and creating favorable conditions for the VBS to successfully complete its Buddhist affairs in 2023. The most venerable also extended his best wishes to the GCRA delegation on occasion of upcoming Tet 2024.
