GCRA leader extends Tet greetings to religious dignitaries in HCMC

Dr. Vũ Chiến Thắng, Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA), paid visits to leaders of several religious organizations in Ho Chi Minh City ahead of Vietnam’s traditional New Year (Tet) 2020.  

During the visits, Chairman Vũ Chiến Thắng met with Most Venerable Thích Thiện Nhơn, President of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Council; Most Venerable Thích Đức Nghiệp, Deputy Patriarch of the VBS; Archbishop Joseph Nguyễn Năng of Ho Chi Minh City Archdioces and; Bishop Joseph Đỗ Mạnh Hùng of Phan Thiet Diocese.

While extending Tet greetings to the Buddhist and Catholic dignitaries, Chairman Vũ Chiến Thắng expressed wishes that the religious leaders would continue encouraging and guiding followers of Buddhism and Catholicism to fulfil civic responsibilities, promote fine values of the religions and contribute more to the country.
