Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Vũ Chiến Thắng visited on December 19 local Catholic and Protestant organizations in Dak Lak province ahead of the Christmas festival 2017.
Accompanying the GCRA leader included Chairman of Dak Lak provincial religious committee Nguyễn Tấn Chức.
During the welcoming reception hosted by Bishop Vincent Nguyễn Văn Bản and Priest Vicar General Stephanie Nguyễn Văn Đậu in Ban Me Thuot Diocese’ palace, Chairman Vũ Chiến Thắng extended merry Christmas and happy New Year to Catholic dignitaries and followers of the diocese. He also called on local Catholics to further upholds fine traditions for social unity and the better life both religiously and secularly.
Speaking with pastor Huỳnh Cường during his visit to the representative committee of the Evangelical Church of Vietnam (South), the GCRA Chairman took the chance to commend the representative committee’s role in encouraging and guiding local Protestants to proactively engage in social movements and programs for socio-economic development in the locality. He wished Protestants in Dak Lak a happy Christmas and New Year.
