GCRA holds Northern seminar on implementation of laws on belief, religion

The Government Committee for Religious Affair (GCRA) held a seminar on the implementation of laws on belief and religion on August 5 in Nghe An province.

The seminar held with the theme “Ten-year implementation of the State policies and laws on belief and religion” was co-chaired by Chief Executive Vice Chairman of the GCRA Bùi Thanh Hà and Vice Chairman of Nghe An provincial People’s Committee Đinh Viết Hồng, and attended by representatives of the religious affairs committee from 33 Northern and Central Highland provinces.

During the event, participating delegates reviewed and discussed the State administration on religious affairs and the implementation of the State laws, policies on belief and religion in the past ten years (2005-2015 period), after the enactment of the Ordinance on Belief and Religion. The seminar also pointed out several remaining issues in the implementation of the State policies and laws on belief and religion in Vietnam.

In addition, the delegates expressed that the Drafting Law on Belief and Religion once approved will create further progress in the State governance on religious affairs.

The seminar also made comments for promoting efficiency and effectiveness of the State management on religious affairs, including completion of policies and laws on belief and religion and the strengthening of collaboration amongst concerning authorities for solving issues relating to religion.
