GCRA holds meeting for reviewing its performance in 2019

The Government Committee for Religious Affairs reviewed its performance 2019 and mapped out plans for 2020 at a meeting held in Hanoi on January 13.  

The meeting saw the presence of Deputy Minister of the Home Affairs Ministry Nguyễn Trọng Thừa, Chairman of the GCRA Vũ Chiến Thắng, Vice Chairwoman Trần Thị Minh Nga, Head of the GCRA’s Trade Union Trần Thị Minh Thu, and the GCRA’s staff and employees.

During the event, Vice Chairwoman Trần Thị Minh Nga delivered the draft report on the GCRA’s performances in 2019 and key tasks set for 2020. Comments at the meeting also highlighted remaining issues relating to the organizational structure of the GCRA, the state management on belief and religion, and the implementation of the Law on Belief and Religion 2016.

Addressing at the event, Deputy Minister Nguyễn Trọng Thừa praised efforts and achievements of the GCRA in 2019 and emphasized 11 key tasks set for the state administration on belief and religion for 2020.

Concluding the meeting, Chairman Vũ Chiến Thắng called on the GCRA’s cadres, civils and employees to continue promoting fine traditions for successfully fulfilling the assigned tasks set for 2020.

On this occasion, Deputy Minister Nguyễn Trọng Thừa presented the State President's second-class Labor Medal to former Vice Chairman of the GCRA Mr Dương Ngọc Tấn, former Chief of the GCRA’s office Dương Văn Khá, and former Director of the GCRA’s Caodai Affairs Department Nguyễn Đắc Tuấn.

Certificate of merit of the Prime Minister were also handed over to Chairman Vũ Chiến Thắng, Director of the Buddhist Affairs Department Bùi Hữu Dược, the government religious committee, and its Buddhist affairs department for outstanding contributions in the organization the UN Day of Vesak 2019 in Vietnam.
