The Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) held on October 1st, 2018 a conference on implementation of the Law on Belief and Religion and its guiding Decree No.162 for dignitaries and members of several religious organizations in Tien Giang province.
As many as about 200 delegates representing religious organizations of Buddhism, Catholicism, Protestantism and Caodai sects in the locality attended the event.
The event’s opening ceremony saw the participant of GCRA Vice Chairman Trần Tấn Hùng, Deputy Director of the Inspection and Legislation Department under the GCRA Nguyễn Thị Định, Chairwoman of the provincial committee for religious affairs Bùi Thị Mai and representatives of the provincial police, Commission for Mass Mobilization and Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF)’s committee.
The two-day conference covered topics on key contents of the Law on Belief and Religion and the Decree No. 162 guiding its implementation that was just issued by Vietnam Government on the 30th of December 2017. In addition, information on religious life in Vietnam and across the world was also updated during the conference.
