On occasion of Chol Chnam Thmay Festival (the traditional New Year) of Khmer people, Deputy Director of Southern Religious Affairs Department under the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Trà Quang Thanh led a delegation to visit Khmer Buddhist dignitaries in Southwest region.
The GCRA delegation visited and met with Most Venerable Deputy Patriarch cum legal Inspector of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Discernment Council Danh Nhưỡng in Kien Giang province, Most Venerable Deputy Patriarch cum Vice Chairman of the VBS Executive Council Dương Nhơn in Soc Trang province, Most Venerable Chairman of Can Tho city VBS Executive Committee Đào Như and monks at the Khmer Buddhist Institute.
At the visiting places, Deputy Director Trà Quang Thanh conveyed best wishes of GCRA leaders to Khmer Buddhists in the Southwestern region. He also urged Khmer Buddhist dignitaries to promote fine traditions for the Buddhist unity under the VBS and proactively participate in movements, contributing to the great national unity bock and national construction and defense.
