GCRA disseminates religious law to central-level officials

The Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) held on December 6 a meeting to disseminate Law on Belief and Religion to key officials and legal rapporteurs working in ministries, the ministerial level agencies and government offices.

The conference was chaired by Chairman of the GCRA Vũ Chiến Thắng and attended by Vice Chairmen of the GCRA Bùi Thanh Hà and Dương Ngọc Tấn and representatives from GRCR’s departments and units.

Addressing the meeting, Chairman Vũ Chiến Thắng stressed the need for enhancing legal knowledge on belief and religion for state officials working in ministries, the ministerial level agencies and government offices, thereby improving efficiency in the advisory work related to religious affairs of competent state agencies.

During the event, Vice Chairman Bùi Thanh Hà presented topics on key and new contents specified in the law

The Law on Belief and Religion was adopted last November by the 14th National Assembly at its second session. The new law with 09 chapters and 68 articles will officially take effect on January 1, 2018.

The new law on belief and religion would contribute to create not only a favorable legal corridor for religious organizations and followers, but also specific tasks for concerning state agencies to perform their functioning duties, said Vice Chairman Bùi Thanh Hà.
