Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Vũ Chiến Thắng led a delegation to visit Xieng Khouang province on April 7-8 during his working visit to Laos from April 5-9.

Deputy Secretary of Lao People’s Revolutionary Party in Xieng Khouang province Ụ Thên Ma Sy Sôn Xay and representatives from local authorities welcomed the GCRA delegation.
Speaking at the welcoming reception, Deputy Secretary Ụ Thên Ma Sy Sôn Xay briefed the guests current socio-economic development and religious life in the province. She hoped that the GCRA would continue sharing working experiences with Laos’ officials tasked with religious affairs.

During the visit to Xieng Khouang province, the GCRA delegation visited the Plain of Jars and Tham Piu Cave in Kham district.
Xieng Khouang, the province with the longest border with Vietnam, currently has 250,000 people and two main religions of Buddhism and Protestantism.
