Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Vũ Chiến Thắng attended the first meeting of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s 8th-tenure Executive Council held on March 27 in Ho Chi Minh city.
The meeting was co-chaired by Chairman of the VBS’s Executive Council Most Venerable Thích Thanh Thiện Nhơn and Vice Chairmen Most Venerable Thích Thanh Nhiễu and Most Venerable Thích Thiện Pháp.
The event reviewed the Buddhist Sangha’s activities in three months of 2018 including the appointment of personnel of the VSB’s 13 functioning committees, the promulgation of the VBS’s new Charter and guidance for the organization of the Buddha's birthday festival and the summer retreat 2018 (B.E. 2562).

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman Vũ Chiến Thắng asked the VBS to disseminate the Law on Belief and Religion and promote Buddhist training for monks and nuns.
