The Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) held on November 10 a meeting for an initial assessment of a publication on the cultural values of Caodaism.
The meeting was presided by Assoc. Prof. Nguyễn Thanh Xuân from the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics cum Head of the Initial Appraisal Council.
Present at the meeting included Vice Chairwoman of the GCRA Trần Thị Minh Nga, Assoc. Prof. Nguyễn Phú Lợi from the Institute of Belief and Religion under the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Acting Editor-in-chief of the GCRA’s Religious Publisher Lê Hồng Sơn, Dr. Nguyễn Thị Quế Hương from the Institute for Religious Studies under the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences Nguyễn Thị Quế Hương, Dr. Nguyễn Thúy Hằng from the Institute for Journalism and Communication Training from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities under the Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and Dr Lê Trung Kiên, Deputy Chief of GCRA’s Office.

According to Vice Chairwoman Trần Thị Minh Nga, the publication on the cultural values of Caodaism is part of the Project 219 approved by the Prime Minister, providing updated information for cadres tasked with religious & ethnic affairs, journalists, editors, publishers, researchers, etc. The publication has been generally drafted with manners for easy understanding and access, and could serve as a valuable reference for the information and communication work.

Members of the initial appraisal council spoke highly of the publication topic and its information on values of Caodaism throughout the history of Vietnam, as well as gave comments highlighting Caodai values for patriotic movements and the Caodai culture in the Vietnamese cultural flow.
