The Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) held on October 29 a meeting for disseminating laws on belief and religion to Buddhist students of the Vietnam Buddhist Institute in Ho Chi Minh city.
The event saw the presence of Director of the GCRA’s Department for Buddhist Affairs Bùi Hữu Dược, Acting Director of the GCRA’s Department for Legislation and Inspection Nguyễn Thị Định, Senior Venerable Vice Principal of the Vietnam Buddhist Institute in Ho Chi Minh city Thích Viên Trí, and 800 monks and nuns of the Buddhist institute.
The two-day meeting covered policies and laws of the State on belief and religion including key contents of the Law on Belief and Religion 2016 and its guiding Decree, and administration procedures in the fields of belief and religion.
The GCRA also held on October 30 a seminar for gathering comments from monks and nuns studying at the Buddhist institute on contents and curriculum of the law subject to be taught at the religious training schools.
