Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc pays a working visit to the Government Committee for Religious Affairs

In the afternoon of July 16th 2013, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc paid a working visit to the Government Committee for Religious Affairs. Attending the event were representatives of ministries and departments: Government Office, Ministry of Home Affairs, Foreign Affairs, Public Security, Finance and Government Committee for Religious Affairs.

At the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc directed the Government Committee for Religious Affairs and the State relevant bodies to focus on a number of tasks: comprehensively reforming the organizational apparatus of the state management sector on religious affairs, strengthening professional training to improve staff’s qualification, improving the legal system, the legal framework relating to the state management of religion.

He instructed to strengthen religion foreign affairs, especially strengthening of relations with the countries in the region and the world which have large numbers of religious followers and strong relations with Vietnam’s religious believers, guiding and enabling religions to participate in people foreign affairs; well implementing policies on religion and taking care religious life for oversea Vietnamese community.
