Deputy Minister Vũ Chiến Thắng presents floral congratulations to annual conference of the VUSG

Accompanying the deputy minister included Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Nguyễn Tiến Trọng and Director of the Home Affairs Department in Nghe An Nguyễn Viết Hưng.

Welcoming the guests were Priest Chairman of the VUSG Tomas Nguyễn Trường Tam, and priests and sisters of the VUSG’s Executive Committee.

During the visit, Deputy Minister Vũ Chiến Thắng highly appreciated roles of Catholic orders and congregations in social charities, and stated that the Ministry of Home Affairs, the GCRA and concerning agencies have always created favorable conditions for religious practices and social affairs of Catholic orders and congregations in accordance with the law helping them promote their roles in society and enhance the position of the Vietnamese Catholic Church in the country and in the world.

The deputy minister expressed hope that the VUSG would continue guiding Catholic religious orders and congregations to comply with the State laws, and promoting their resources for the development of the country.

Priest Chairman of the VUSG Tomas Nguyễn Trường Tam took the chance to thank Deputy Minister Vũ Chiến Thắng, Vice Chairman Nguyễn Tiến Trọng, and local authorities for their due attention extended to Catholic religious orders and congregations in Vietnam.

The annual conference of the VUSG themed “Faithful and remain in God’s love” has been taking from 13 to 16 November with the participation of 150 delegates who are super generals and representatives from congregations and orders of the VUSG in Vinh diocese.
