Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Vũ Chiến Thắng extends pre-Christmas visit to My Tho diocese

Deputy Minister of the Home Affairs Ministry Vũ Chiến Thắng extended on December 15 a visit to My Tho diocese, ahead of Christmas 2022.

Accompanying the deputy minister included Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Nguyễn Tiến Trọng, Director of the Catholic Affairs Department Đinh Quang Tiến, Director of the GCRA’s Southern Religious Affairs Department Trà Quang Thanh, Deputy Director of Home Affairs Department in Tien Giang province Lê Hoàng Liêm, and Chairwoman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Bùi Thị Mai.

Welcoming the guests were Bishop of My Tho Peter Nguyễn Văn Khảm, Priest Paul Phạm Đăng Thiện, Chief of the diocese office, and other priests of the diocese.

While extending pre-Christmas greetings to the bishop and all other dignitaries and parishioners of the diocese, Deputy Minister Vũ Chiến Thắng highly appreciated practical contributions made by the bishop, priests and parishioners in Tien Giang province in particular and the diocese in general.

For his part, Bishop Peter Nguyễn Văn Khảm stated that he and the priests of My Tho will continue guiding local Catholic people in religious practices in accordance with the state laws and make practical contributions for socio-economic development in the locality.
