Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Vũ Chiến Thắng extends Christmas greetings in South Central

Deputy Minister of the Home Affairs Ministry in charge of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Vũ Chiến Thắng visited on December 15-16 offices of dioceses in the South Central, ahead of Christmas 2020.
Accompanying the Deputy Minister included Head of the GCRA’s Southern Religious Affairs Trà Quang Thanh, Deputy Head of the GCRA’s Caodai Affairs Nguyễn Phong Thịnh and representatives from provinces of Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa and Binh Thuan.
Bishop Matthew Nguyễn Văn Khôi of Quy Nhon, Bishop Joseph Võ Đức Minh of Nha Trang and Bishop Joseph Đỗ Mạnh Hùng of Phan Thiet warmly welcomed the Deputy Minister.
Speaking with the Catholic bishops during his visits to Catholic dioceses, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Vũ Chiến Thắng extended merry Christmas to Catholic dignitaries and members of the dioceses.
In exchanges with the bishops, Deputy Minister spoke highly of practical contributions including supports for the Covid-19 prevention work, reliefs sent to flood victims in the Central region and other social charities over the past year made by religious organizations in general and Catholics in particular. He also informed results of socio-economic development in the country and the relation between Vietnam and Vatican in 2020.
The Deputy Minister called on local Catholics to proactively join in social charities, practically contributing to the socio – economic development of the localities.
