Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs congratulates Most Venerable Thích Phổ Tuệ on occasion of the Buddha’s birthday

On May 5, Mr. Phạm Dũng, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs visited and congratulated Most Venerable Thích Phổ Tuệ, Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS), Abbot of Vien Minh pagoda, Quang Lang commune, Phu Xuyen district, Hanoi on occasion of the Buddha’s birthday 2014 – B.E 2558.
Mr. Phạm Dũng expressed congratulation to the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) and Most Venerable on occasion of the UN Day of Vesak B.E 2558. The 2014 United Nations Day of Vesak is an important cultural and external event contributing to develop comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and other countries. He also briefed the host information on government agencies’ support and assistance extended to the VBS in the preparation for the 2014 UN Day of Vesak in Ninh Binh province.
Nearly 100 years of dedication to dharma and nation, Most Venerable Thích Phổ Tuệ led Buddhist dignitaries and followers in the building of the national unity block. Mr. Dũng wished Most Venerable Thích Phổ Tuệ good health and hoped that he will continue to guide the VBS, the Discernment Council, Executive Council and Buddhists to conduct religious activities according to the VBS’s motto of religious practice and Buddhist dharma and take the VBS firmly on the way to closely accompany the nation.
