Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs attends a ceremony to commemorate the passing away of His Holiness Ngô Minh Chiêu of Caodai Tam Thanh Invisible Dazzling Sect

On April 11, 2014 at the Thanh Duc worshipping place No. 264, 30-4 street, Hung Loi ward, Ninh Kieu district, Can Tho city, the Cao dai Tam Thanh Invisible Dazzling Sect (Caodai Tam Thanh Chieu Minh Tam Thanh Vo Vi) held a ceremony to commemorate the 82nd  year of the death of His Holiness Ngo Minh Chieu’s – the first disciple of Caodaism

Attending the ceremony were representatives from 9 churches, 7 Caodai organizations; representatives from the Pure Land Buddhist Laymen Association of Can Tho city; Executive Council and 9 worshipping establishments of the Cao dai Invisible Dazzling Sect, with total of about 1,000 people. Representatives from State at the ceremony included Mr. Phạm Dũng, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs cum Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA), and leaders of Can Tho city.

His Holiness Ngô Minh Chiêu was born in 1878 and died in 1932. He is the first follower who was taught the way of worshiping the Divine Eye and worshipping rituals of Caodaism by the Supreme Being. He was appointed the first Pope of Caodaism by the Supreme Being. His Holiness Ngô Minh Chiêu in association with dignitaries of Caodaism founded Caodaism and established the Cao dai Tam Thanh Invisible Dazzling Sect. Currently, the Cao dai Tam Thanh Invisible Dazzling Sect has 9 worshipping establishments and operates in 7 provinces and cities with more than 3,000 followers.

Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phạm Dũng, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Chairman of the GCRA highly appreciated the contribution of dignitaries and followers of Caodaism in general and the Cao dai Tam Thanh Invisible Dazzling Sect in particular, in building and defending the country. He also believed that the Cao dai Tam Thanh Invisible Dazzling Sect will continue to promote traditional values, follow the example of His Holiness Ngo Minh Chieu in guiding followers and their religious practices toward religious unity and close attachment to the country according to motto “Glorious Country, Enlightened religion”
